[EDIT: Sorry for the shitty quality!] This was a video for a band made up of Ryan Parks, Jefferson Song and Alex Spitz. Land existed briefly in the desert of Orange County. I was fortunate to befriend them. Sorry for the bad quality, maybe I’ll try to find the source files and export a better quality. Maybe.

This is a videoclip I uploaded back in January. It’s a small clip of life from Ekua Todd walking down the street somewhere in Antwerp with her Twins. The Impressionistic distortions were added by me and are probably best viewed in full screen mode. Thanks!

The colors ebb and flow as the trio walk down the street speaking of their dailies. The colors are psychedelic as they speak of Mein Kampf and beautiful coats. The colors start pausing then moving on their own as if they’re not from the same space in time as where the conversation is. At first you might have heard a gentle boy speaking, shoes trending through snow, maybe you caught the bus passing by. But slowly you get lost. Further diverging between the two senses. And maybe you’re not quite knowing of what you’re looking at anymore. Just abstract shapes and abstract motions of the same instance of people while they’re talking.

I’ve always been a big fan of Peter Saville after I read an interview about him being a ‘playboy’ graphic designer who would lush around his apartment in a robe with half nude women running around flauntingly. Now I don’t know if that were true or not but I’d later read about his role with Pulp and Joy Division at Factory Records. It’s such a feeling when you realize two of your most recent finds collide into one another like if your epic fate just waved it’s hand to come into play. Truly fucking awesome.
